Welcome to the Eight Annual "Disaster" Website

Response to question presented online at Final 9:

The deal with Little Africa is that the county fire department ran a study and determined that trees in the park were too abundant and too close to the homes in that area. As a result, there were quite a few trees slated for removal and that process has begun. There has been no discussion regarding removal of the course.

I attended the meeting for this at the Carmichael Parks and Rec District months ago and it was one of the few times where disc golfers and local residents got together as allies. All were concerned about removal of these trees and many of us put in our two cents worth. The residents near T9 or fairway 8 are certainly not happy with the removal of the trees.

Flat out, the park has been deemed to be dangerous and many trees have been and will be removed. Though the course will be changed, it will still be a fantastic place to play. The SkullMaster Disaster will still take place there next February.

Many of the trees had died due to the insect problem that almost killed all the Euc's out there. Many trees died but the ones that remain are going to make it.

Personally, I think there will be plenty of trees left to retain a great course.

Don't waste your time on Del Campo, it's never coming back.
